Vital Strategies partners with governments to rapidly design and implement public health initiatives that bridge the gap between public health needs and solutions, especially in low- and middle- income countries.

In 2016, Vital Strategies created its Environmental Health division with the intention of using the tools of public health to ensure healthy and sustainable outcomes for people living in an increasingly urbanized world. This means developing the technical capacity to understand environmental threats beyond the traditional span of public health control and work across sectors to promote health by controlling air pollution, mitigating and preparing for climate change, reducing exposures to toxic chemicals, and expanding healthy and green transportation This work will target investments that can amplify health gains in urban areas, particularly in low-and middle-income countries and engage the public and governments to support them.
