Global Health Coalition for Clean Air: Empowering health professionals (doctors, nurses, health care workers) through training and advocacy to respond to the global air pollution crisis, educate patients and serve as thought leaders and advocates for clean air policies in their respective cities and countries.

Influencing Public Discourse About Air Pollution: In South and South East Asia, conducting formative research to understand how people interpret information about health and air quality by launching social and mass media campaigns to promote civic engagement to improve air quality.

Journalist Training: Improving reporting on air pollution and health by educating journalists about leading sources of air pollution, resulting exposures and health effects, key sources of relevant data, and techniques for building stories around data. Trainings also focus on the role of health communications in improving public health.

Addressing Transboundary Haze in Singapore and Indonesia: Improving awareness of the connections between air pollution from transboundary haze pollution and health and supporting policies and solutions that reduce peatland fires.

 

Climate and Clean Air Action in South Asia: Designing an air quality management roadmap to accelerate progress on clean air and climate action in India and Indonesia. Additional assistance includes creating a strategic communications campaign to strengthen support and political will for clean air and providing technical assistance.

Clean Household Energy Scoping Mission: with Bloomberg Philanthropies, World Health Organization and US Centers for Disease Control, visiting countries with high health burden from solid fuel combustion pollutants and assessing needs and public health roles in accelerating access to clean fuels, reducing pollution exposure and improving health.

Partnership for Healthy Cities: Partnering with cities across the globe to implement cost-effective and easily scalable urban health initiatives. One such initiative is promoting policies and infrastructure investments to promote physical activity, increase sustainable transportation and improve air quality.

 

National Strategies to Address Lead Poisoning Prevention in Peru: In partnership with the Peruvian Ministry of Health, designing and implementing a national surveillance program for lead poisoning, assessing policy gaps and raising awareness or lead poisoning events via targeted strategic communications.
